I was wondering are you ever aware of this new open source buzz or I like it how ZDNet’s Adrian Kingsley-Hughes put it, “Free and Open Source Software Movement” in his blog post “Could you switch over being 100% Open Source?”. My answer to that was YES!. I’ve been about a week running 100% open source. As a home user, student and more over IT Ed. Well i came across an article over Tech Republic and I found it very interesting. Very realistic view of things. At most times I must admit we all have praised and cheered about a particualar operatin system we like, but not everyone likes what you like. Whats the reason to that? Jack Wallen sums it up really well.

I will not forget this particular part on this post…

Microsoft, Linux, Apple…whatever works for you. The important thing is that you are working to make the lives of your users simple and productive (And if you are using Linux for that purpose I applaud you.) -Jack Wallen.

Obviously he is a Linux workman but really what an operating system should do is make life simpler and more productive.

Here we are looking at the new Windows 7 Desktop, impressive as it looks, i personally hate the thick taskbar (top). However they seemed to have planned to overtake the undefeatable open source Linux market. Well lets take a look at how the market works…
